"How to
cultivate the iron-will and mental toughness needed to overcome anyhurdle between you and
MLM riches"
Here's one of my
favorite quotes that inspires and reminds me to keep going when I feel like giving up (I
hope it will do the same for you):
"Nothing can
resist the human will that
will stake even its existence on its stated purpose"
- Benjamin
Disraeli
Network marketing
can take you to the greatest emotional highs imaginable, and in the next instant, can
bring you to your knees. If you don't have a strong resolve... if you
haven't decided to make MLM work for you no matter what (I'm talking about
the same determination that a baby has to learn how to walk) then any obstacle - big
or small - will throw you off track!
So, how do you make
up your mind to win at MLM? Well, the answer is simple: If you have enough
reasons why you are doing something, then everything else is easy. In other
words, your power to succeed in MLM will never be found in the
"how-to"... you'll find it in your "WHY-TO."
It's an odd
paradox. Take two similar appearing people, for example. Person "X" knows
all the techniques perfectly and can parrot them back flawlessly... while person
"Y", brand new to MLM, knows nothing. If person "Y" has the passion,
the desire, and has enough reasons why he/she has GOT to succeed, then he/she
will run circles around person "X" without any experience whatsoever.
Again, the difference is in the reasons why!
So, the secret to
cultivating the iron-will and mental toughness needed to overcome any hurdle between
you and MLM riches lies within you and your reasons for success. Now, here's a
little test to tell if you have enough reasons: Are you - right now - experiencing
the level of Network Marketing success you desire? If not, you need to cultivate
more reasons why.
Here's how you can
do that. Block out some time (an hour or two), sit down, and write out the answers to the
following questions. Don't blow this off. Spend some time with it. If you do this,
you'll discover what really drives and motivates you. You'll start to figure out why you
do (or don't do) the things you do (or know you should do). So, enjoy the next few
questions and really dig in here. Get inside your heart and see what it is that's driving
you. You're going to find out some really amazing things about yourself that you never
knew before. It can be quite an "eye-opener."
Now, there's the
other thing that you need to know. It's important. Your network can only grow as much and
as fast as you grow personally. So, if you're not making enough money, or you're not
seeing the results that you want to see, it's usually an indication that some inner growth
is necessary and these questions are the way to do that!
Here they are:
- What great things would you do if you knew you could not fail? What would your life hold
for the next 1 to 10 years if you were guaranteed you could have anything? (What do
you want to DO, to BE, to SEE, to HAVE, to GO, to SHARE?)
- What motivates you? (Example: Recognition, feeling of winning, money, share wealth with
others, learning, etc...) Why do these things motivate you?
- What talents are you going to share with your team and the new members of your team?
What do you have to contribute?
- What are your "nitty-gritty reasons" for building your Network Marketing
business? (What do you never again want or will never again accept in your life?)
- What does teamwork mean to you? How do you act in a team situation? Does empowerment and
encouragement come naturally for you? If not, what could you do to make sure it does?
- If there are any goals you've failed to reach in your networking business so far, what
really stopped you?
- What would you do if you HAD to be rich? What if you HAD to make your business pay off
in the next 6 months? What if your very life, or the lives of your loved ones,
depended on it? What excuses would you be willing to give up? What would you do right now
that you haven't been doing?
- If you had to describe yourself (not physically) in only three words, what would they
be? Why?
- What are your biggest challenges when communicating with others?
- How much income do want from this business? $50,000 a year? $100,000? $300,000?
List a specific amount of money you would ultimately like and by when you are determined
to have it by. For example, you might write: "One year from today, I will have
an extra $50,000 a year in passive income." Whatever it is for you, write it
down now...
- What are the intangible elements you want from your MLM business? For example: "I
want to buy back my time and have the freedom to live my life on my terms."
Whatever it is for you, write it down now...
